Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if a car breaks down on or before the wedding day?
On the day, the car could 'fail to proceed'. You are advised to plan a backup family car just in case.  A 1977 Rolls-Royce can be unpredictable but every effort is made to ensure that the car is mechanically reliable. If the car becomes unavailable in the weeks leading up to the wedding, we will make every effort to contact colleagues in the business to replace the car with another company for the same price.

Will you be using the cars for other weddings on the same day?
No. We book out a car for your wedding only so that valeting is done that morning and the prepared car is yours for the day. This means that you are not rushed before or after the ceremony and are not kept waiting by other users.

May we come and see the cars before we make any final decisions?
Yes. The Rolls are available for viewing and we would recommend this. After all, you want to be sure that the colour and presentation of the cars are what you would expect. You might also want to meet the driver and to see if there is enough room in the back of the car for your wedding dress, especially if it is a full style gown. You may also like to see the car when it is in use at a wedding. Check the diary page for dates and times.

Is a trip for the Bridesmaids and Bride's Mother available if we only book one car?
Yes, so long as the venues are close by. If the journey was a long one, you would not want the first party arriving at the wedding venue too early before the bride. Many weddings involve short multiple trips between home and the wedding venue and so two journeys are available.

Has the chauffeur been police checked for work with children and young people such as bridemaids?
Yes, the chauffeur holds a current Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) - Enhanced Disclosure certificate, number 001065746616 with no records listed. Working with bridesmaids, pageboys and carrying school-age pupils to school Proms requires this CRB check to be in place. As an extra precaution, single children under the age of 16 should always be accompanied by an adult chaparon when in the cars.

How are you catering for the changes in the law regarding in-car seating for children?
Children under 135cm in height or under 12 years of age must use a proper car seat. A booster seat may be provided to raise the height of a child to a position where the adult seat belt fits more securely, safely and comfortably. Exemptions are in place for this law (taxi journeys and occasional journeys), however, we would prefer to be safer than sorry! You can provide your own highback booster seat or use our booster cushion). For further information on the new laws, visit www.thinkroadsafety.gov.uk
